TEX was raised in the city of Toronto, Canada from a Caribbean background where both parents were Jamaican immigrants. At an early age TEX started showing signs of artistic power, which was fostered through the devotion of his uncle who at the time owned and operated a Reggae Sound System. Due to this exposure TEX developed a concentrated love for music.
